Febuary-May featured story:
Janet Forsythe: A Women, An Artist, Her Story
As a woman photographer, perhaps I am more concerned about the emotional aspect of art. I truly believe the old adage " a picture is worth a thousand words" particularly when the picture
is a photograph. Due to our hectic lives we may not be able to take the time to
stop and enjoy the beauty of creation. We may want a tangible object to hold, and reflect upon. Something to capture our thoughts and feelings of past moments . I believe a photograph can do just that.
A photo can stir a heart as much as a beautiful poem.
I hope my photos will help you see your world from a slightly different perspective. Perhaps they can evoke a memory,
inspire a dream or at least bring a smile. It's all about me...at least this part is! I've been interested in art in general and photography specifically for many years but the normal routine of life with a family made it difficult to pursue. Now, since my kids are grown and on their own, I have more time to
play with my camera.
Since I have some annoying health problems I often have
to resort to "drive by" or "close to the parking lot" shooting but where there is a will... For that I have to thank my long-suffering husband of 30+ years who drives me around for hours, lugs my equipment for me, waits while I take 100 photos of the same plant...and rarely complains!
